October 14-16, 2011 -
Let The Madness End Ride.
-
Rally Point: 1200 Noon,
Lumberjack Restaurant, 1025 Colusa Avenue (Hwy 20) Yuba City,
Ca. Near Hwy 99. TFBECO: 1330. This ride is hosted by
Uncle Mark...
-
Well, it's been fun. Miles and
miles have slid beneath our machines, countless pictures have been
taken and treasured moments have been talked about and rehashed
until we are tired of hearing about them. But here's our chance to
do it one last time in the year 2011. Before you put the bike to
beddy-by and hang up yer jodhpurs and helmet, attend one last
outing; ride one last twisty; tell one last bawdy joke and give Hoss
one last dirty look!
-
EXR's Let the MADNESS End ride
is the last ride for the 2011 season. Those who have been there
before know the all out chaos that can occur at this last gathering
of the motorcycle minds. Heck, last year, folks got plungers. This
year???? Who knows! But if your not there, you will not be
involved. So slide your Sore Butt into the saddle bags one more
time and be at this year's last hurrah!
-
There will be a Saturday day
ride to wherever it's dry and curvy for those folks who are there
and who would like to ride! Friday night dinner? You are on your
own. But Saturday, your presence is requested at the banquet. What
banquet you ask? A lavish, expensive and decadent extravaganza.
-
OK, we are having pizza and
beer... Oh... OK! the final dinner plate ensemble is being worked
out as you read this... Look, there's nothing like having Egg Foo
Yung while sitting behind the glass in a strip mall. This will not
be Egg Foo Yung. And don't forget that there will be a "you're full
of it" year-end presentation. Awards - Prizes - Strippers (OK,
maybe not that last part).
-
I also make this promise to
you... If Bryan and Char go out on a pie run, they will be
accompanied and they will be back on time! So there!
-
Resting Place:
Chalet View Lodge on Hwy 70 right near beautiful Graeagle, CA.
No not maybe, it's definitely Graeagle, CA. They even have a
Starbucks right on site... SWEEEET!
-
Call the lodge directly at
(530) 832-5528 and ask for Carrie Hickman (you talk to anyone else
and yer liable to be sleeping in the room with the half-moon on the
door). Tell her that you are "with the EXR motorcycle crew".
Friday night's King rooms for the low price of $109.00 per night...
and this is a pretty classy resort and spa (ask anyone who's been
there). Saturday night's stay comes to $86.00 per person, or
$172.00 for a couple for the night. Don't roll yer eyes just yet!
That $172.00 bucks INCLUDES your King room, the banquet (i.e. the
cost of the dinner for two), AND a lavish Continental breakfast the
next morning (Starbuck's not included). So once we get comfy on
Saturday... POP YOUR CORK! uh... wait... lemme rephrase that...
POP A CORK... Or, pull the tab on yer Silver Bullet... unscrew the
cap on the Boones Farm bottle... WHATEVER! There will be a no-host
bar set up 1 hour early at the banquet... So, DRINKS ARE ON THE...
well... you!
-
So for those calculator
challenged, (let's see... 109 plus 172... and then carry the one,
add the tax which is... and then subtract 14, divided by 1.06 and
add just a skosh for the two digits after the dot) that's a total 2
night package for 281.00 total for two nights (not including tax,
license, drive-off, prep, license plate and documents).
-
If you would like, you can also
just do a one night stay. DO NOT DELAY IN MAKING YOUR REZZY's...
This place fills up in a hurry! The lodge is holding a small number
of these rooms just for us. You make your rezzy's in July and you
get whatever they have available... tent, cot, sofa... whatever...
